Much like *Roald Dahl|/author/roalddahl* and *Saki|/author/saki*, Stevenson wrote fantasy whether digestible for children or difficult to digest even for an adult. He didn’t care which, as long as it was imaginative. His short story *The Body Snatcher|/onlinereader/the-body-snatcher* is a classic of horror, and yet he also wrote a book of poetry for little children.
In much the same way he is most famous for two of his novels, one horror and one a children’s adventure: *The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde|https://www.gutenberg.org/files/43/43-h/43-h.htm* and *Treasure Island|https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/120/pg120-images.html*.
